Job Description:
Direct the performance of the business enterprise functions of
the California Trucking Association (CTA), including the sales
staff and internal sales support staff. Develop, implement and
manage new revenue streams for the Association. Develop budgets and
maintain budget control for all departmental activities. Serve as
liason to Membership and Program Committee. Ensure high quality
customer service to membership.
Job Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities:

Overall leadership and managerial responsibility for the field
sales staff and internal membership staff.
Oversee or perform sales and retention training for CTA sales
team.
Develop and implement marketing materials for CTA's business
enterprise unit.
Develop and implement membership loyalty & affiliate programs,
including endorsed and non-endorsed services unique to CTA
membership.
Implement and administer financial budget with respect to
assigned responsibilities.
Manage and lead CTA field staff and field contractors.
Develop monthly performance goals for the department,
personnel, projects and activities.
Set monthly performance goals for staff and review goal
progress with staff each month.
Travel to select CTA events/activities as appropriate and in
line with goals & objectives.
Staff liaison to CTA's Allied Conference and Membership
Services Policy Committee.
Develop and maintain an ongoing one-on-one relationship with
each CTA Unit Chair and Vice Chairperson.
Work with Unit leadership and field staff on yearly Unit
goals.
Participate in monthly conference calls with Government
Relations/Policy department and sales staff.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong leadership, management, organizational and presentation
skills.
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to train in the areas of sales and retention
techniques.
Expert knowledge in sales training and affinity programs.
Ability to manage large scale responsibilities and lead diverse
functions.
Ability to lead and manage a geographically disperse sales
staff.
Ability to read and comprehend budget and financial
statements.
Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.
Ability to travel up to 75% of schedule (air and
automobile).
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Strong demonstrated customer service orientation and
outlook.
Ability to work well with association members, internal staff
and contractors.
Ability to manage conflict, address complaints and resolve
issues under pressure.
Ability to show and maintain a positive attitude with respect
to customers and potential customers.
Valid California Drivers License
Computer skills (full MS Office suite).

BA or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years experience, at
least 2 of which at supervisory or management position, leading a
multi-functional, yet sales/membership oriented staff. Proven track
record of demonstrating positive ROI on efforts.
